A calling into the High Country

I had my eye on a particular unfound cache in the high country and with winter behind us, I figured today was a nice day to begin. It looked from your basic map perspective a straight forward hike of around 10km’s. It was far from straight forward…

We started off with a gentle, although very muddy walk along the river on a 4WD track. It was when I turned off the track where it became mean.

Suffice to say, it was a very tough walk with over 700m of elevation gain in under 3Km.

Anyway, I got there in the end and was treated to some spectacular views of the high country in amongst the snowy surrounds. Thanks must go to the Clever Monkey that dangled the carrot that got me up early this morning. A worthy cache for location of the year.

Cheers until next time, keep on hiking.
