AAWT Day 6

Day 6, another biggish day today starting along the main range, a beautiful day, even traversing some snow drifts along the way which was fun. Stopped off at Caruthers peak for a quick break, then continued to the priority for today, Mount David, Dave just had to have a photo of himself on the summit.

It was then where the weather turned nasty, first clouds came in providing very little visibility which is fine using modern apps like Gaia but when you have also got snow drifts that are not passable to contend with, it becomes a nightmare. A 23km day turned into a very wet 27km trudge in the afternoon all the way to White’s River Hut. I am still to see the rolling ground in all its beauty. One day!!

Had a visit from Barry the bush rat who promptly left when he saw we were here.
