Day 8, a longer, but much easier day than the previous 2, 24km along a mostly undulating fire trail. We stopped for an early lunch at O’Keeffs hut where we met a couple of hikers who were part of a group and some people from NPWS who were driving around cleaning all the hut toilets out.
We pushed on at around 11.30 after an early lunch and seen arrived at Mackeys Hut where we setup tents, cut some firewood and started the fire to heat the place up for 6 we knew were coming and another 5. Yep it was squishy inside!
