Australian Alps Walking Track 2004
For 50 days in November/December of 2004 Karen, Richard and Adriaan will be attempting to complete a full crossing of the Australian Alps Walking Track, which runs from Canberra to Walhalla in Victoria and covers almost 700km.

As well completing this huge personal challenge, they are aiming to raise money for Conservation Volunteers Australia, a non-profit organisation whose aim is to attract and manage a force of volunteers in practical conservation projects for the betterment of the Australian environment. Some of their conservation projects include:
- Building and maintenance of walking tracks

Removal of weeds

Tree planting and regeneration projects
